So you think the FDA is protecting us from dangerous medicines and drugs? Think again! It's gotten so bad that it seems it is protecting the Pharmaceutical companies instead of the consumers it is supposed to protect.
All these things didn't make sense to me some years back when I was going through a very difficult phase in my life. It was only when a friend of mine suggested reading some funny materials, that I realized that funny jokes are really powerful and they can change the mood of a person instantly. Since then I have been reading funny jokes almost every time I feel like laughing and getting relief from scammer everyday stress.
Trip Disruption: If you are stuck for a few days due to a storm and cannot participate in ski activities, you will be covered for phone calls, lodging, and meals. Most ski travel insurance will reimburse your costs if you are unable to ski for two or more days due to bad weather. They will cover the cost of lift passes ski school fees and medicals fake any other expenses you incur.
Now for the 'carrot' aspect of giving up smoking; more kisses and hugs when you no longer smell medicals bad and fake taste like a dirty ashtray. Your home, car and office will no longer be coated in a yellow oily film that is the residue of the smoke you exhale. Your appearance will improve as the dryness of your face and the ensuing wrinkles gradually disappear. That puckered upper lip will gradually smooth out, making you seem years younger.
Prepare yourself for what comes next. It may be more testing. It may be treatment. It may be both. It may be neither. The last is the hardest to bear, I think. At least while you're engaged in treatment you're doing something active, fighting the diagnosis in a concrete way. Many people become inconsolably anxious once their treatment stops because at that point all they have left to do is wait for a relapse.
Unless you have cash up front, you can drive off the car lot in your new car. In this day and age, most people do not go this route. They pay for their cars through financing. To avoid any problems, people should pay their car loans on time. What often happens is the opposite. They end up defaulting on their monthly payments. This is because they have to stretch their budget to take care of other important needs, such as mortgage loans and medical procedures.
Prepare yourself to feel badly. Doctors enter medicine with the hope of making patients feel better. However, when delivering bad news, that's not what happens. No matter how people feel before I give them bad news, afterward they always feel worse. If I don't recognize this as normal, that working hard to make people feel good about bad news is not only counterproductive to the grieving process but potentially deleterious for our doctor-patient relationship, in the long run I'll add to my patients' pain rather than diminish it.
For me, even though I'm not transcribing all day, I find things like Facebook and Twitter to be the "good news/bad news." They provide a great tool for me to stay informed. Even the searches I have programmed in my Google reader are great for staying connected. Throughout the day, these things can also be a great break away from the monotony of the day. At the same time, they can be a huge time waster if I'm not careful to watch how long I stay on each site. For home-based MTs, these are a great way to stay connected; just don't let it become like the office MT who takes a 15 minute break and ends up coming back an hour later!
